Working with Superbee Community Studio CiC
Since 1998 Shirley has been delivering music and media centered sessions to adults and children affected by poor mental health and wellbeing, learning disabilities and those on the autistic spectrum believing music can be a motivating and a fun way to teach, especially those with distinct learning needs.
She also provides training and consultancy in a variety of situations to show the benefits of teaching music to those with special needs, to express the importance of creating an inclusive environment to work in, and to also discuss certain strategies, resources, and ideas to use to help special learners enjoy and succeed in music on their own terms and in their own time. Shirley's aim is to promote ‘self worth’ and a sense of achievement, and everyone is encouraged to get involved with something that they never thought possible!
